So you are joining and trying to find a name, eh? Well this little thread should help you a lot. Just read it all the way through-I know it's long, but it's worth it. It just states some basic information, but also some good names!
Your First Half Of Your Name:
The first half of your name will always be there no matter what. The only change would be when you become an elder, but that is very unlikely. So choose it well. There are many, many ideas for them, and here are some random ones I thought of and got from the books:
red orange blue yellow white fire ice cinder dark light gold silver bronze long short big little mouse vole rabbit bracken bramble tawny strong weak slow fast lazy dust dirt thorn fern sand gray frost winter summer spring morning night after noon golden cloud ash lost bright willow one eye dapple patch half full speckle tiger lion leopard black running oak cypress redwood dogwood russet cedar jagged rowan tall dead bark mud web torn gorse stone mist misty storm feather wheat heavy slim dawn shade loud soft moss raven smudge wolf scar cream sun ivy sparrow mint panther lilly pearl wind
Now if you want to be a kitten, also mainly known as 'KIT' then you must add 'kit' to the end of your name
Ex. Runningkit
Get it? Remember to keep the first half of your name. Then add kit to it. Also some background information: Kits are kittens and they play and hang out a lot at the Nursery. If you are a kit and leave the Nursery, you can be scolded. Nothing will happen, but you could be yelled at by a member of your clan!
Now if you want to become an Apprentice then you must add 'PAW' to the end of your name
Ex. Runningpaw
Get it? Remember still-keep the first part of your name...
Apprentices: 6 moon old kits that begin training to learn the Warrior Code and to become a warrior themselves.
Second Half Of Your Name!
If you want to become a warrior or are an apprentice waiting for your Warrior Ceremony, then you can look at the list and see the name endings you like. Warriors get to pick their own, but Apprentices can't. Their leader will pick their name ending. Sorry if you don't like it very much-you're stuck with it. But your leader will go through very careful consideration for the name and they will have a reason prepared to share with you if you want to know. Here are some name endings:
storm pelt stripe tail fur flower ear foot nose cloud tooth poppy face claw whisker brook wind step belly feather
Notice: I have put some names in both catagories. But use your own common sense. Never use both of the names like Stormstorm or Cloudcloud. Be smart, you'll keep that name until your an elder, or forever.
Leaders
Leader's names end in 'STAR' this means that you still use your first half of your name and then put star after it.
Ex. Runningstar
Now there are only 3 Clan Leaders at a time, so most of you will not have to worry about it.
Deputies and Medicine Cats
You keep your warrior names always. They don't change. But for Medicine (Med.) cats normally their names will end in leaf. But not always. Take Runningnose for example. You just keep your warrior names period.
Elders
I'm not sure how it works, but it explains the cat well. If your cat is deaf I would suggest something like Nohear, or something like that. The Clan leader will still give you that name too, if it is needed. Otherwise you will still keep your Warrior name.
Loners & Kittypets
Ok, now loners and kittypets get to make their own name. But please-if in their kistory they ran away from a Clan put their name with a Clan type name behind it. Like a loner who was banished would not be named Bobby. But something like Bobpaw. (don't use that!) Kittypets get whatever name they want! Lucky!
Silverpelt & Moonstone
You many not use either of these names. Silverpelt is the stars in the sky which they think are the dead warriors and Moonstone is the giant, stone in HighStones. So you MAY NOT use either of these names!
